Operating Instructions

The operating instructions specify the correct usage of the Cerrowire® Barrel Pro. These guidelines are unique to setting up the Tangle-Free Barrel Pro for optimum performance and safe use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury or harm and void any guarantees.

Before the Pull

STEP 1

Remove barrel lid. Locate handholds on the center tube (fig A).

Figure A

STEP 2

Pull center telescoping tube straight up until you see the horizontal orange sticker (fig B).

Figure B

STEP 3

After pulling the center telescoping tube straight up, rotate it 90-degrees (fig C), lining up the orange positioning stickers (fig D).

STEP 4

Lower center telescoping tube onto support ledge, aligning the orange guide marks (fig E).

STEP 5

Set tripod legs on the barrel lip (fig F). Use the lid locking ring to secure tripod in place (fig G).

STEP 6

Untie upper wire pigtail (fig H), pushing the wire back into the barrel (fig I).

STEP 7

Feed the conductor wire(s) through the top of the tripod (fig J).

Figure J

STEP 8

The Barrel Pro is ready for your pull (fig K).

Figure K

PRO TIP #1

For multi-conductor barrels, tape the conductor ends together (fig L). This way, you’ll always know the length of the wire remaining in the barrel (fig M).

After the Pull

STEP 1

Remove tripod from top of barrel as shown in (Fig O).

Figure O

STEP 2

Rotate center telescoping tube 90 degrees and retract into barrel as shown in (Fig P).

Figure P

STEP 3

Place lid on Barrel Pro and secure retaining ring until next use as shown in (Fig Q).

Figure Q

PRO TIP #2

WARNING: Do not stack, roll, or spin barrel. CAUTION: Stand clear of barrel when using powered take-up equipment.

How to Track Remaining Footage

STEP 1

The product sticker shows which conductor has the footage numbers you’ll track. In this example, the white conductor with red stripes has the sequential footage marks we’ll be using (fig R).

Figure R

STEP 2

Figure S
Find the Bottom footage number printed on the product sticker, in this example, 32,000 (fig S).

STEP 2

Find the Bottom footage number printed on the product sticker, in this example, 32,000 (fig S).

Figure S

STEP 3

Write that number at the top of the Starting Footage column of the Sequential Footage sticker (fig T).

Figure T

STEP 4

When you’ve finished pulling for the day, find the footage mark on the conductor. In this example we finished the day at the 29,000-foot mark (fig U).

Figure U

STEP 5

32,000 minus 29,000 is 3,000 – that’s how many feet of each conductor remains in
the barrel (fig V).

Figure V

STEP 6

Repeating this process after every pull keeps you up to date on how much wire is left in the Barrel Pro (fig W).
