APPLICATIONS • May be used as service-entrance conductors when installed as required by NEC® Article 230 • May be used for branch circuits within a building as specified by the NEC® Section 338-3
CONDUCTORS • Compact stranded AA-8000 Series aluminum alloy
CONDUCTOR INSULATION • Type XHHW-2 conductors • Black XLP (cross-linked polyethylene), rated 90°C in wet or dry locations • One of the conductors has a red stripe on the surface of the insulation for polarity identification
NEUTRAL CONDUCTOR • Bare conductor strands are helically wound around the two paralleled, insulated conductors
ASSEMBLY • A glass-reinforced tape is applied over the conductors
JACKET • A gray, sunlight resistant PVC (polyvinyl chloride) jacket is applied over the complete assembly
INDUSTRY STANDARDS • UL 44 (insulated conductors) • UL 854 Service Entrance Cables • Federal Specification A-A-59544 • NFPA70: National Electrical Code®
